Noah Khor
Scottish Eastern Districts 2022
6/9, 410kg @ U66kg Jnr, First Place in his weight class
Squat: 120kg, 130kg , 135kg (+5kg PB)
Bench: 90kg , 100kg ❌, 100kg ❌
Deadlift: 170kg ❌ , 170kg, 185kg
Squat went exactly as planned, no complaints there, 5kg PB.
Bench was unlucky, 90kg flew the best we’ve seen it and Noah was confident he had 100kg. If we went 95 then 100 it may not have been there so we took a calculated risk but it didn’t pay off. Still proud of his go at it and finishing the lift but he just got called for his butt coming off a bit.
We were 2.5kg behind 1st place but we were confident that Noah’s Deadlift would see us through. He hurt his back a bit with pushing for the 100kg Bench twice so we played it safe and dropped from 190kg to 170kg for his opener.
170kg flew up that fast that he got caught at the top and moved forward so got called for a downward movement. Although we knew he could go up we wanted to ensure we put ourselves in poll position so re attempted 170kg and got it. Finishing with 185kg on his third easily to secure a 400kg + total and take the win. We had 200kg or more there but we played it safe.
We achieved both of his goals. Win his class and achieve a 400kg + total.
When Noah and I started working together at the end of 2020 his best lifts were:
- 90kg Squat
- 82.5kg Bench
- 180kg Deadlift
In 2020 / 2021 we had to train through lockdown twice and periods where gyms were closed so to make this kind of progress for his competition was even more impressive.
